Joseph Chevere is the Executive Director and co-founder of the non-profit organization Celebrate Hope Recovery Center. He is a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) and is also a Pastor in Staten Island NY. Before he was converted to Christ, he was a young man that grew up in South Brooklyn, Red Hook, raise by a single mom. Growing up in a mob related community and the street life that surrounded him at every turn was intense every day. Money, power and respect was a priority growing up which was for him translated into drugs, violence, partying and establishing a name or testimony on the streets. After years of living this way he found himself addicted to drugs which led to a life of crime and a heroin habit that took full control of everything. In 1985 he went into a residential treatment program called Anchor House and stayed there for 5 months. During this time, he heard about something he never heard before. It was about Gods love and the message that God can set you free, a seed was planted there at Anchor House and something within him began to happen. After leaving Anchor House, Joseph went into a new program in Brooklyn called Victory Outreach. It was in this residential drug program / discipleship, that the gospel seed within him flourished, and he had a powerful breakthrough and transformation in Christ. Through Victory Outreach, Joseph was mentored in Christian living and ministry leadership. He attended Vision Bible Institute where he studied and received his Associates Degree. In 2005, he was launched out with his family to Staten Island to pioneer a new Victory Outreach Church. He established a church and a men’s discipleship home in the New Brighton section of Staten Island for nine years. In 2013, in the wake of hurricane Sandy, Pastor Joseph brought the Victory Outreach Church under the covering of Christian Pentecostal Church where he served as an assistant pastor. Overseeing Community Outreach, Bible Institute Classes, Support Groups, Follow up, Men's Ministry & Special Events. In 2015 a wave of overdoses hit Staten Island and the news nicknamed Staten Island “Heroin Island” and led statistically in overdose fatalities in all of the other boroughs per capita. Being moved by what was proclaimed by the news he stepped out by faith and launched Heroes of Hope. First he began to start Christ centered support groups all over SI. Then he brought many churches of all denominations, recovery organizations, NYPD and businesses together to raise awareness and save lives. For two years Heroes of Hope united Marches, Knock out Addiction in SI Stadium, Festivals, Concerts, Rallies in hot spots and more. He then partnered with all organizations that were addressing the drug epidemic. In 2017 Joseph was challenged and led to start the Celebrate Hope Recovery Center as co-founder with Rev Anthony & Lisa Reinglass. In the last 7 years we have witnessed hundreds of people delivered from addiction and families reconciled. CHRC has served thousands of people on Staten Island in many ways. Alongside his team he has built up CHRC to be the only Christ centered facility in Staten Island that is providing recovery services directly to the communities at no cost. In 2022 Joseph was prayerfully released from Christian Pentecostal Church to put all focus on taking Celebrate Hope Recovery Center to the next level. Today the journey continues as many people are still finding freedom, deliverance, transformation, and healing in our highest power Jesus Christ.

Anthony was born in Brooklyn NY and moved to Staten Island in his young teens. He graduated from Tottenville High School in 1981; and despite being a Pastor’s kid, he lived a lifestyle of organized crime, partying, cocaine use, and all that went with it. The downward spiral that ensued caused many regrets, but 7 years later the Lord in His grace, took hold of the helm. Anthony met his wife Lisa, was delivered from drugs and was able to use his legal troubles and hardships as a stepping stone to forge and manifest impeccable character. Anthony went on to win several awards in the real estate management and construction industry and is also the author of several well published Christian books and is a respected business leader who is called upon for council by many prominent figures in the real estate, legal and even political arenas for his insight and wisdom.
Between his background in substance abuse and his heart for helping people and building the Kingdom of God, it is not hard to see why in 2017 Rev. Anthony and his wife Lisa decided to collaborate with Joseph Chevere to forge the Celebrate Hope Center. They desired to not only stop, but to reverse the effects of this massive drug epidemic that was claiming the precious lives in the Staten Island community.
